Hey There!

Hello! I'm Cora, the human behind The Fluff Cat and cat mom to the feline fluffballs, Ollie and Momo.

 

 I have loved art,  hand crafts, and sewing ever since I was a child. I was always drawing in the margins of notebooks and experimenting with paints in my room so when I graduated high school I decided to further my education by attending the local community college for Fine Art. I took every class and subject in the arts that I could and learned so much from not only my professors, but my peers as well.  I left school and worked a few odd jobs before beginning to teach private art lessons to children and adults at The Perfect 5th where I still teach now. 

 

I 've dabbled in many mediums but I truly found my love for painting with watercolor and gouache. Something just clicked in my brain the first time I used gouache for a doodle and its been a staple of my studio ever since. I love the intense pigments and vibrant colors that come with using both traditional and acryla gouache. Watercolor is also close to my heart and is still one of my favorites for atmospheric and moody illustrations.  

 

Sewing has always been a part of my life, having learned as a child from my mom and grandma. There have been times when I would take a break from it, but I would always come back with some new project to take on. In the past few years I've come back into sewing again, now with a focus on historical, fantasy, and cosplay pieces. I've won awards at comic cons for my cosplay work and give talks about my historical creations at reenactments and other events.  

 

As a creator at heart, I always have new projects and ideas at the ready and I'm happy to have a place to share them all with all of you!
